The Altamonte Fastpitch Academy (AFA) instructional staff provides year-round professional instruction. Each instructor was specifically chosen because of their specialized background. Our instructors include previous and current professional college and high school softball managers and coaches.
Coach Jacob Stanley, a proud veteran of the United States Air Force, is thrilled to take on the role of AFA lead instructor. He began his coaching career as a Varsity Assistant for several Central Florida high school softball and baseball programs, including Ocoee High School, where he was a student. Continuing his education as a Business and Organizational Leadership major, Coach Jacob has also coached travel softball in the Central Florida area for over three years. He has developed a reputation as a confident and competitive coach, and is well-respected within the softball community. In addition to working with the AFA, Coach Jacob is currently the head softball coach at Lake Brantley High School. He, along with the AFA instructors, are devoted to providing professional training in all aspects of the game.

Frank has 17 years coaching experience in girls fastpitch softball and boys baseball. Included in that time is 11 years of travel softball coaching experience and achieving national success with two top 10 finishes in USSSA National Tournaments.
Renee has over 26 years coaching girls fastpitch softball. Her experience includes coaching at the high school level as well as travel softball. She also has two years experience in running girls fastpitch softball camps and clinics.
Rhonda Torrence has been coaching softball for over 10 years. She has coached teams in our Babe Ruth League, All Stars, and is currently an AFA Travel Team coach.
Logan was a four-year varsity softball player for Lake Brantley High School and is currently a Division I player. She also has four years of experience providing private instruction specializing in fielding and hitting.
Kendall was a four-year varsity softball player at Lake Brantley High School. Kendall was also a Division I softball player at Purdue University for three years. Kendall has several seasons running youth softball camps, clinics and private instruction, specializing in fielding and hitting.
Paige is a former collegiate softball player for Northwest Florida State. While there she played catcher and first base. She has over 5 years experience in recreational and travel leagues.
Kat Ciccarone Laitner
Kat formerly played collegiate softball for Seminole State College where she was 3rd team All-Conference. During her time as a raider Kat was selected to pitch for the All-Star Team. Kat has over 20 years experience in pitching instruction.
Erin was a four-year varsity player at Lake Brantley High School. She has two seasons coaching travel softball and one year experience with camps and clinics. Erin also has two years of experience with private instruction, specializing in fielding and hitting.
Kayla was a four-year varsity player at Lake Brantley High School. She is a current Division II player in her first year. Kayla has three seasons of experience with private instruction, specializing in pitching.
Hannah Marien was a four-year varsity player at Lake Brantley High School. Starting this fall Hannah will start her first year at Stetson University as a Division I softball player. Here at AFA she specializes in working with pitchers.
Ella Christopher was a four-year varsity player at Lake Brantley High. Ella will be starting her first year at Gardner-Webb University as a Division I player come this fall. She works primarily as a hitting and defense instructor for AFA.
Kaeli Zahradnik was a four-year varsity player at Lake Brantley High School. Kaeli will be playing at Division II at Rollins College come fall. She specializes in hitting and defense at AFA.
Kiley Strott is a junior at Lake Brantley High School. Upon her graduation she will be a Division I athlete at the University of Central Florida. She works primarily with catchers and hitters at AFA.
Rachel Rex is a junior at Lyman High School. Rachel is a varsity player that has experience in travel ball and works with catchers, infielders, outfielders, and hitters.
Kiara Beltre is a Junior at Lake Brantley and a 3-year Varsity Starter. She is a middle-infielder, slap hitter and works primarily with middle infielders and hitters.
