This "research classroom" is comprised of a National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Conference (NELAC) certified environmental laboratory located at the nationally recognized, Altamonte Springs Regional Water Reclamation Facility (ASRWRF). Chemists at the lab conduct critical water quality tests necessary to assess the performance of the highly regulated and essential public services such as drinking water and reclaimed water.
The lab's certification depends on successful Florida Department of Health audits and regular participation in Proficiency Testing programs. Lab staff provides a real laboratory experience with a "hands-on" demonstration of relevant test procedures.
Visits to the plant are by appointment only.
AS2I education programs are held on Mondays and Tuesdays for groups of 75 to 150 Seminole County Public School students.
Note: We are gearing back up to reactivate the program. Please check back in September for updates on how to book a fieldtrip for your class.
