Surface Water Quality & Watershed Atlas

The Stormwater Division collects quarterly water samples from strategic water bodies in the city so that water quality can be monitored. The city collects and analyzes these samples as part of its requirements under the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) program. The results are forwarded to the University of South Florida (USF) for upload into the Florida Department of Environmental Protection's (FDEP) statewide water quality database, FL STORET, and the Seminole Watershed Atlas.

The Seminole Watershed Atlas is a clearinghouse of information on water bodies within all of Seminole County. Funded by local municipalities and Seminole County, the Atlas is designed to provide citizens, scientists, professionals, and planners with comprehensive and current water quality, hydrologic, and ecological data, as well as information about recreational opportunities and a library of scientific and educational materials on water resource issues. We are fortunate to have this incredible resource at our desktops. To find out more information on the waterbodies in Altamonte Springs, please visit the Seminole Watershed Atlas.
